Happy Birthday to All the Outstanding Virgos!

VIRGO: August 23 - September 22

The symbolic figure for Virgos is a vestal virgin holding a sheaf of wheat. Virgo is associated with the time of the harvest. The vestal virgins were responsible for sorting through the harvest each year and selecting the best grains, the finest seeds to be held back and protected until they could be planted for the next year’s harvest. The "M" in Virgo's Zodiac Symbol stands for Mind and represents great cognitive ability.

Virgos are meticulous, methodical, perfectionists, and good magnetic healers. They are generous, and usually interested in their friend’s affairs, but they only share their secrets with their friends with equal fidelity. “To be of service” is a Virgo’s motto because they enjoy doing things for others. Virgos like to choose their friends and relationships with care, as well as health and nutrition.

Virgos are quite fussy with what they eat and are often health food devotees; there is an inclination to be fussy about their general health as well. Order and harmony are very necessary to their health, therefore, organic food, pure air, with deep full breath exercise, are the true natural and infallible remedies for Virgo people.

Virgo is a mutable earth sign and is involved in the processes of healing, adaptation, and change, and is concerned with completing things and becoming whole. Virgos desire is to have and make a good appearance. As an Earth sign, Virgo operates in the realm of the physical, of the material and of the practical. The planet Mercury rules Virgo, making Virgo's intellectually oriented and capable and efficient in all they undertake, being excellent planners and designers. They are also fine scholars, and they are always ready to teach and impart information.

Virgo has a tendency to become too focused on the little things and has a difficult time seeing the big picture and when this ability for detail becomes negative, Virgo will become picky and over critical. The perfect example of what can happen when Virgo energy sets out of control is the Joan Crawford character from Faye Dunaway’s film Mommy Dearest: a fussy, obsessive, neat-freak who absolutely could not tolerate wire hangers in her daughter’s closet, and overly obsessed with her appearance and nutrition.

While Joan Crawford herself is not a Virgo, her character, Mommy Dearest most certainly exemplifies the possible extremes for Virgos. Virgos must learn to look for the good uses of all things rather than their imperfections. The hardest and most important lesson for Virgo to learn is that perfection is a process, not a destination.

Virgo men are perfectionists and love precision and efficiency, and when achieved, they can be so charming and desirable. Virgo women are particularly fussy about their dress and like to lead in fashion. They are affectionate and devoted in the family, and strong believers in blue blood (Royalty).

Romantic relationships will be found among those born under Libra, Sagittarius, and with those in their own sign.

Among Virgos, there are many inspirational musicians, poets, filmmakers, writers. Some of them include Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, John Knowles and Stephen King.
