Hey out there!
Welcome to another wild week, and this one really IS one. I had been doing a little reading, and you know, I am familiar with the names for the various phases of the moon, though I don’t often use them. This one struck me as interesting because this week’s Full Moon in Capricorn has three names: The Full Buck Moon because now’s the time of year when the male deer come into their full antlers, The Hay Moon because farmers are usually trying to put up hay right about now. But the one I kind of nodded about was The Thunder Moon. Of course, now is also the time of year when we can see a lot of storm activity, and that’s the basis for that one but…
Holy moly, the aspects on this one. Now, if you look around, there are a lot of sort of doom, doom, DOOOOOOOM posts on this, and of course, as usual, the fluffier ones. You know, for me, I am forever right smack in the middle, and even I had a hard time figuring out the more positive way to approach this. The big thing here is that the next day, that Pluto opposite the Sun. Now, the Sun’s always opposite the Moon during Full Moons. So, you’ve always got this certain level of emotional polarity there, and the kicker is, you work to balance it all out.
Well, you throw in that Pluto influence and things are going to get weird. Pluto’s still retrograde, (As are Saturn, Neptune and Chiron) and things may just seem a bit more intense.
I sit here thinking about recent events, and to be really honest, when I say something like “a bit more intense” anymore, it feels weird. Because there have been a lot of intense emotions going on for a while and I think when we look at these things, particularly in the States, we’re coming up on the US’s Pluto Return. Of course, that’s not going to happen until 2022, but time works differently on these levels. These next few years are nothing, but a blink of an eye in the universe and this particular collection of influences goes back right around 60 years or so.
If you look back, much of what we’re experiencing now has always been going on. You won’t find a minority or otherwise that acts like these issues are new because they’re not. What is new, however, is that more people are becoming aware of these things, and not everyone’s open to that awareness. Matter of fact, they fear it. So, Pluto in Capricorn in 2008 begins digging up the heart of the corruption, more people start to see it, react in all sorts of ways, and I am taking care to not convey my own personal bias here, but again, so many of these issues aren’t new, our awareness of it is. Anyway, point of this tangent is it’s been intense for a while and will be intense for a while yet, and a Capricorn Full Moon, this one, in particular, can shine a light on even MORE things we need to let go of. Things that are not working. Outdated. Bad mindsets, regret, guilt, grudges, resentment… you name it, under this particular collection of influences at play this week, you might see that pop up like some not-especially-adorable mole in a whack-a-mole game. Do you want to keep playing whack-a-mole? Keep repeating self-destructive patterns?
Or do you start taking the steps you need to heal? First step, you acknowledge it; you don’t deny it. “Just think happy thoughts” because anyone who’s ever done that can tell you, it’s not quite that easy. Be awesome if it was, but you honor your emotion, allow yourself to feel it and examine it, and then you can take steps towards resolving whatever’s at play that had it percolating in your guts. Unpacking the baggage, as they say. It’s just, in this case, the suitcase won’t close, and it’s throwing your dirty socks and underpants everywhere; so, you have to look at them.
If you’ve been holding on to some things that are either hindering you or flat out hurting you, the long and short of this week is that it’s a good week to start taking some steps and letting that stuff go. You may well see reminders of just why you should in the weeks ahead, leading up until the next cycle. A Full Moon in Capricorn’s a great time to realize that some of the things we hold onto are the things that hold us back, and let it all go.
Have a great week!
Though you may not be inclined to care what others think of you, this week it may be a highlight, Aries. In this case, though, you may find yourself a bit more in tuned to the needs and feelings of others, which can help tremendously in terms of making the connections you need to. However, be careful! If you give in to the urges to boldly express yourself that may hit this week- the reverse can be true, as well. Be mindful of what you say, and you’ll use this energy to your advantage.
You may be feeling a bit on the restless side this week, and for some of you, that means the thrill of travel! For others, this may mean that you need to do a little exploring. If you catch yourself being bored with your day to day, it’s important to open your mind and broaden your horizons a bit. This is a wonderful time to reconnect with a partner by trying something new, Taurus. Just be sure you’ve got a good solid, safe word in place, first.
Oh be careful this week, Gemini. The thrill of something dangerous or forbidden may be an urge that hits you hard, and you want to be careful not to indulge too much. Note: I didn’t say avoid it at all because there are some experiences you just have to explore, and this will help you balance things a bit. If you find yourself getting a bit on the obsessive side, take a step back and ground yourself. It is, however, a great time to pick up a constructive new habit.
This Full Moon week is going to hit you right in the solar plexus, Cancer. Shifts to your closest relationships may happen or begin as jealousy or competitive ooginess brings up insecurities. Solidly built relationships, be for the business or fun will weather this easily, in fact, probably better for it. However, if you’ve been thinking about cutting a tie or two, it’s also probably about time you did. How to tell the difference? Do the challenges you face drive you to do better? Hang in there. If they just make you depressed, anxious and angry all the time? Might be time to let it go.
Who’s a pretty kitty with a huge, giant waste of your time and resources, Leo? Yeah, unfortunately, that’s probably you. This week is going to draw your attention to the areas of your life which could be better spent, and practical matters like getting things organized. Genius is a great thing, but without focus, it goes nowhere. Worse, when you’ve got somebody sponging your brilliance with no return. Don’t feel badly about giving people, situations, or mindsets the boot, now.
Gotta admit, if you read the horoscopes, you’re probably gnawing that lower lip like you do, Virgo, but for you, this Full Moon week ought to be pretty great. You may find yourself getting caught up in a little nostalgia. Try to steer it towards the happier, lighter things and finally, allow yourself to unpucker a bit and enjoy yourself. Been a rough few months, and you deserve to ride this nice energy for all its worth.
Libra, the trolls are gonna be out in full force this week, both online for sure and in your family life. Just avoid this nonsense. You may be feeling like your inner child has gotten a real spanking and it may be time to look at that, but you don’t need to put up with anyone who’s attempting to force you to. Self-care is also going to be absolutely key this week. Allow yourself to process in your own time, not someone else’s.
This week you may find yourself having a hard time articulating what you think and feel, Scorpio. You may also find that disagreements have a way of getting really heated, really fast, and mostly, this is because right now you’re not keen on superficial chat or gossip. Still, you may find yourself more capable of empathizing with others than usual, and you may need to set some healthy boundaries to prevent people taking advantage of that.
This Full Moon this week may bring you some interesting information, but also, you may find yourself feeling pretty nostalgic, Sagittarius. You’ll discover that any tie to the past feels fairly comforting and this is a good thing. Additionally, though, be careful that you aren’t taking people disagreeing with you personally, particularly when it pertains to your ideals, not everything is what it appears to be. In this case, that’s a good thing.
We have a very, very weird week ahead of us, fellow goats. Matter of fact, moving on through the entire cycle you may find you are a bit less capable of the matter of factness we’re supposedly famed for. (I’m a Libra rising and a Leo moon, soooo not me.) It’s not all bad emotions, though! Detachment may be hard won this week, but empathy is just lit up with us like nothing else. Because of the odd collection of influences, well, you can feel pretty clingy and insecure, or you can be ultra-sensitive and caring. Maybe ask your Cancer friend how to ride those mood swings?
Though you may be feeling much more emotionally in tune with... everything, Aquarius, this week might be a good one for doing what you have to do, and then heading back home to work on things or relax in private. It’s not an especially good idea to vent your frustrations or even project them on others this week (or ever, really), but making time for yourself and your own thoughts can help a great deal.
You may be feeling more sensitive than you have in a while this week, Pisces. And you’ll be wanting to connect or reconnect with your very closest friends, which will have great results. You may just find that as you begin to open up to someone, in particular, those who’ve felt they were actually closer get a little weird about it, and may be clingy. Now’s the time for balance, as you begin to form and re-form some of the most important connections you have.
Pisces Affirmation this week: Vulnerability is my strength.
