When it comes to illness and disease or something like cancer, attitude is everything. While it may be hard to think positively in the wake of a cancer diagnosis, one thing we know for sure is that a positive attitude is much more healing and restorative than a negative one.

When it comes to your outlook, attitude is everything because you reap what you sow. Having a positive attitude can literally shape the world around you and there are many reasons why. It turns out, that having a positive attitude can actually have tangible, measurable results when it really comes down to it.

We all live in a stressful world, but there are things that we can do to be more positive, and taking steps to incorporate these into our lives can actually help us in the long run to live a happier and healthier life.

For example, being around positive people and immersing yourself in more positive relationships can help you heal because enthusiasm and positivity are contagious.

Your perceptions and reactions are everything and you can either choose to get upset or be stressed out in the face of a devastating disease or you can choose to take each day as it comes. Sometimes it’s not possible to change the dynamic of a situation but it is possible to change how you react to it.

Another thing you can do, to help yourself heal is to repeat positive affirmations. Affirmations are very powerful and they cannot only help you achieve success in life, they can also help you heal. Affirmations are basically short, positive statements, set in the present tense, that are meant to reflect the condition or state of mind you want to achieve. Affirmations are a great tool for maintaining a positive attitude in the wake of a cancer diagnosis.

Repeating affirmations help you change your thoughts at a very deep level of the mind, helping you facilitate healing.

Typical affirmations for health could include statements such as:

  • I am a powerful healing force.
  • I am strong, healthy and vibrant.
  • I have the power to heal my body.
  • I am happy, healthy and full of life.
  • I am healing.
  • I am strong.
  • I am healthy.

Those with a positive mindset handle illness and disease much better than those with a negative mindset.Visualization and affirmations are very powerful tools that you can use as part of your healing process. When you visualize a clean, clear and healthy body you allow your mind to more easily manifest it.

The fact is that when you feel really good, you begin to heal. In other words, whatever you envision in your mind has a direct correlation to how your body responds to life.

In Dr. Masaru Emoto's book - The Hidden Messages in Water it was discovered that when people prayed or used positive words, feelings, and emotions that the water crystals responded by forming beautiful shapes. Since your body is over 60-70% water, the same principle can be used for you.

If you are struggling with cancer and don't know where to turn, affirmations are a great way to help yourself heal.
